Prevent Spam
don't spread email addresses without their owners'
permissions
Unfortunately, I can blame all of my spam on my friends, due to those
awful long To/CC lists.
Email-spam is an unsolvable problem. It will only be solved when the
nature of email changes (for example, by micropayments or networks of
accountability.)
For this reason, I would appreciate it if you do your part in
preventing spam.
(1) If you send email to a large list (>3), hide my address in the
BCC.
(2) If you ever want to forward an email from me to a public mailing
list, make sure you delete my email in the "From" and "Reply-To"
fields. Likewise if you plan on posting an email of mine on the web.
Spambots are very good at finding any emails published online.
This is common-sense netiquette.
I have a system of using forwarding addresses for different people, and
getting rid those that start getting too much spam, setting up
an AutoReply to redirect any potential mailers to this site in
order to get my
new public address.
